Yogi Aditya Nath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, established the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana to promote the development and self-employment of the state’s labourers. Under this initiative, returning labourers from Uttar Pradesh, as well as traditional artisans and craftsmen, will receive six days of free training to help them improve their skills.
The state government would grant financial assistance ranging from Rs.10 thousand to Rs.10 lakh to traditional artisans and craftsmen in Uttar Pradesh such as carpenters, tailors, basket weavers, barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, cobblers, and so on. The state government would bear the entire expense of this initiative. Interested state recipients who want to apply under this plan can do so online by visiting the scheme’s official website.
Every year, more than 15,000 workers will be hired under this scheme. The monies granted to the labourers under this scheme would be directly sent to the beneficiaries bank accounts. As a result, the applicant must have a bank account that is linked to his or her Aadhar card.
Purpose
As you are all aware, state workers such as carpenters, tailors, basket weavers, barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, and cobblers are unable to carry on their businesses due to financial difficulties. The Uttar Pradesh government has launched this plan to address this issue.
The primary goal of this strategy is to develop and promote handicrafts and traditional traders like carpenters, tailors, basket weavers, barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, cobblers, and others in the state’s urban and rural areas. To provide 6 days of free training to these employees under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2021, as well as financial aid ranging from 10,000 to ten lakh rupees to local artisans and traditional artisans for the establishment of small businesses.
Benefits
Traditional traders in the state’s urban and rural areas will profit from this initiative, including carpenters, tailors, basket weavers, barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, cobblers, and those practising the art of handicrafts.
Under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2022, carpenters, tailors, basket weavers, barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, cobblers, and others would receive six days of free training. Along with this, financial help ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 10 lakh would be provided.
