In this digital age, it is extremely crucial for everyone to stay connected to one another through the internet. Be it a student going to college or a young man looking for jobs, the need for a smartphone in hand now is more than ever.
Keeping this in mind, the Chhattisgarh Government launched an initiative called CG Sanchar Kranti Yojna (SKY) or CG Free Smartphone Scheme where it distributed smartphones among its population free of cost, in order to improve the digital friendliness of the state.
Honourable President Mr Ram Nath Kovind had launched Phase 1 of the CG Free Smartphone Scheme in Chhattisgarh back in 2018, distributing 50.15 lakh smartphones and 5.89 lakh in phase 2. It is estimated that the Free Smartphone Scheme will benefit 46.14 lakh rural and urban underprivileged houses, 4.01 lakh college-going students and phase 2 will have 5.89 lakh beneficiaries.
Objectives of the CG Free Smartphone Scheme
Some of the major objectives of the CG Free Smartphone Scheme are:
- Bringing mobile connectivity to rural areas
- Increase economic activities through smartphones
- Empowering genders by providing mobile connectivity
- Bridging the digital gap by connecting all
- Enabling digital payments and access
- Increase social and financial inclusion
- Provide digital banking anywhere, anytime through smartphones
- Provide smartphones as a tool for participative governance.
CG Sanchar Kranti Yojna is solely developed in order to reduce the digital gap and increase mobile connectivity in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Eligibility criteria of the CG Sanchar Kranti Yojna
The eligibility criteria of the CG Sanchar Kranti Yojna are as follows:
- The individuals belonging to the low-income group, below the poverty line, Gramin and people that are living in rural areas are eligible for this welfare scheme.
- Individuals having a yearly income of less than Rs. 2 lakhs are also eligible, be it a student going to college or college.
- The smartphone is to be registered under the name of the female of the household, regardless of her being a student, working or non-working individual.
- Citizens belonging to the third gender will also be given the same benefits.
Smartphone Features provided
In order to win over the citizens of Chhattisgarh, the government decided to distribute approximately 500 smartphones under the Sky Mobile Scheme. The beneficiaries of this welfare scheme were divided into two categories- students and others.
- Students
The beneficiaries under this category will receive a phone that is equipped with 2 GB RAM, 5-inch touch screen display, 16 GB storage, 1.4 GHz processor and 5 megapixel and 8-megapixel front and back camera respectively.
- Others
The beneficiaries under this category will receive a phone that is equipped with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage, 1.2 GHz processor, a 4-inch touch screen display and 2 and 5-megapixel front and back cameras respectively.
सीजी फ्री स्मार्टफोन योजना क्या है?
These smartphones will also be equipped with internet connectivity, social media apps and online payment apps. This will help in bridging the digital gap among the citizens of Chhattisgarh.
इस डिजिटल युग में, सभी के लिए इंटरनेट के माध्यम से एक दूसरे से जुड़े रहना बेहद जरूरी है। कॉलेज जाने वाला छात्र हो या नौकरी की तलाश में युवा, हाथ में स्मार्टफोन की जरूरत अब पहले से कहीं ज्यादा है।
इसे ध्यान में रखते हुए, छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार ने सीजी संचार क्रांति योजना (एसकेवाई) या सीजी फ्री स्मार्टफोन योजना नामक एक पहल शुरू की, जहां उसने राज्य की डिजिटल मित्रता में सुधार के लिए अपनी आबादी के बीच स्मार्टफोन मुफ्त में वितरित किए।
माननीय राष्ट्रपति श्री राम नाथ कोविंद ने 2018 में छत्तीसगढ़ में सीजी फ्री स्मार्टफोन योजना के पहले चरण की शुरुआत की थी, जिसमें 50.15 लाख स्मार्टफोन और चरण 2 में 5.89 लाख का वितरण किया गया था। अनुमान है कि मुफ्त स्मार्टफोन योजना से 46.14 लाख ग्रामीण और शहरी वंचित घरों को लाभ होगा। , 4.01 लाख कॉलेज जाने वाले छात्र और चरण 2 में 5.89 लाख लाभार्थी होंगे।

सीजी फ्री स्मार्टफोन योजना के कुछ प्रमुख उद्देश्य हैं:

- स्मार्टफोन के माध्यम से कहीं भी, कभी भी डिजिटल बैंकिंग प्रदान करें
- सहभागी शासन के लिए एक उपकरण के रूप में स्मार्टफोन प्रदान करें।
छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य में डिजिटल अंतर को कम करने और मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ाने के लिए सीजी संचार क्रांति योजना पूरी तरह से विकसित की गई है।
सीजी संचार क्रांति योजना की पात्रता मानदंड
सीजी संचार क्रांति योजना की पात्रता मानदंड इस प्रकार हैं:
- वह निम्न आय वर्ग के व्यक्ति, गरीबी रेखा से नीचे, ग्रामीण और ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले लोग इस कल्याण योजना के लिए पात्र हैं।
जिन व्यक्तियों की वार्षिक आय रुपये से कम है। - 2 लाख भी पात्र हैं, चाहे वह कॉलेज जाने वाला छात्र हो या कॉलेज।
- स्मार्टफोन को घर की महिला के नाम से पंजीकृत किया जाना है, भले ही वह छात्र, कामकाजी या गैर-कामकाजी व्यक्ति हो।
- थर्ड जेंडर के नागरिकों को भी यही लाभ दिया जाएगा।
स्मार्टफ़ोन सुविधाएँ प्रदान की गईं
छत्तीसगढ़ के नागरिकों का दिल जीतने के लिए, सरकार ने स्काई मोबाइल योजना के तहत लगभग 500 स्मार्टफोन वितरित करने का निर्णय लिया। इस कल्याण योजना के लाभार्थियों को दो श्रेणियों में बांटा गया था- छात्र और अन्य।

ये स्मार्टफोन इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी, सोशल मीडिया ऐप और ऑनलाइन पेमेंट ऐप से भी लैस होंगे। इससे छत्तीसगढ़ के नागरिकों के बीच डिजिटल अंतर को पाटने में मदद मिलेगी।
