About the CMEGP
The Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme or the CMEGP is a scheme initiated for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The scheme aims to create 10 lakh jobs in the next 5 years to bring employment opportunities to the people who, at the moment, do not have means to earn a steady livelihood for themselves.
Main highlights of the scheme
Some of the highlights of the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme or CMEGP are:
- Under this scheme, the government aims to set up 1 lakh Micro, small and medium enterprises in around 5 years
- The rural areas will have 40% of these units
- The goal is to set up 10,000 micro-projects by first-generation entrepreneurs.
- Around 10 lakh educated unemployed youth of the state of Maharashtra will be employed
- The beneficiaries will be individual entrepreneurs, co-operative societies, self-help groups. Institutions, etc.
Eligibility criteria of the scheme
The applicant can benefit from the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme if he or she fulfils the following criteria:
- They should be between the age of 18-45 years
- For special categories, i.e, SC/ST/Women/Ex-servicemen/Differently abled person, 5 years of relaxations are provided in age criteria
- New micro-small enterprises limited can avail of the benefit under the CMEGP up to Rs. 50 lakh
- The applicant should have passed the 7th standard of schooling
- The applicant should have passed the 10th standard of schooling for projects above Rs. 25 lakh
- The applicant should be skilled and have command over the desired project.
- If the applicant is a beneficiary of any other scheme of the Maharashtra government will not be eligible for the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.
Who would constitute the Beneficiary list for the CMEGP?
The following groups will be able to benefit from the scheme:
- Individual MSME entrepreneurs
- Small and medium institutions
- Co-operative societies
- Self-help groups
- Local trusts
How to fill the application form for the CMEGP?
If you are an entrepreneur in the State of Maharashtra wanting to benefit from the implementation of the scheme, here is how you can go about the application:

- The application form will open up for the individual applicant for the year 2020-21
The applicant would have to read the CMEGP guidelines before filling the online application form and then proceed with the registration entering all the necessary details.
The applicant would also have to upload necessary documents to prove residence so as to avail of the benefits of the scheme, as the scheme is restricted for the citizens of Maharashtra only.
Benefits from the scheme
The scheme aims to offer financial assistance to entrepreneurs.
The funding from the scheme will be offered for applicants based on their needs for the same. The scheme will offer up to ₹50 lakh for manufacturing projects and up to ₹10 lakhs for service sector activities.

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री रोजगार सृजन कार्यक्रम या सीएमईजीपी सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों (एमएसएमई) के लिए शुरू की गई एक योजना है। इस योजना का लक्ष्य अगले 5 वर्षों में उन लोगों के लिए रोजगार के अवसर लाने के लिए 10 लाख रोजगार सृजित करना है, जिनके पास इस समय अपने लिए एक स्थिर आजीविका कमाने का साधन नहीं है।
योजना की मुख्य विशेषताएं
महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री रोजगार सृजन कार्यक्रम या सीएमईजीपी की कुछ मुख्य विशेषताएं हैं:
- इस योजना के तहत, सरकार का लक्ष्य लगभग 5 वर्षों में 1 लाख सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम स्थापित करना है
- ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में इन इकाइयों का 40% हिस्सा होगा
- पहली पीढ़ी के उद्यमियों द्वारा 10,000 माइक्रो-प्रोजेक्ट स्थापित करने का लक्ष्य है।
- महाराष्ट्र राज्य के लगभग 10 लाख शिक्षित बेरोजगार युवाओं को रोजगार मिलेगा
- लाभार्थी व्यक्तिगत उद्यमी, सहकारी समितियां, स्वयं सहायता समूह होंगे। संस्थान, आदि।
योजना की पात्रता मानदंड
आवेदक महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री रोजगार सृजन कार्यक्रम से लाभान्वित हो सकता है यदि वह निम्नलिखित मानदंडों को पूरा करता है:
- उनकी आयु 18-45 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए
- विशेष श्रेणियों के लिए, अर्थात, अनुसूचित जाति / अनुसूचित जनजाति / महिला / भूतपूर्व सैनिक / विकलांग व्यक्ति, आयु मानदंड में 5 वर्ष की छूट प्रदान की जाती है।
- नए सूक्ष्म-लघु उद्यम लिमिटेड सीएमईजीपी के तहत रुपये तक का लाभ उठा सकते हैं। 50 लाख
- आवेदक को स्कूली शिक्षा की 7वीं कक्षा उत्तीर्ण होना चाहिए
- आवेदक को रुपये से ऊपर की परियोजनाओं के लिए स्कूली शिक्षा की 10 वीं कक्षा उत्तीर्ण होना चाहिए। 25 लाख
- आवेदक कुशल होना चाहिए और वांछित परियोजना पर कमांड होना चाहिए।
- यदि आवेदक महाराष्ट्र सरकार की किसी अन्य योजना का लाभार्थी है तो वह महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री रोजगार सृजन कार्यक्रम के लिए पात्र नहीं होगा।
