Where the strategy requires coverage from more than one department, each department may introduce a separate component for implementation. Work on the building of such supporting infrastructure will be prioritised under MGNREGA, and such works should also be included in the district irrigation plan, where irrigation potential has been generated but remains unutilized due to a lack of field channels. Technical assistance will be provided to other line departments in relation to the irrigation work that began under MNREGA. Indeed, such help would aid in the scientific design and implementation of PMKSY works.
